The Nagahara Full Concert model flute is a revolutionary breakthrough in modern flute design.   Not since Theobald Boehm has any flutemaker addressed every area of the flute's physical construction and acoustic properties.

The Nagahara Full Concert model features a larger bore, which greatly
improves the dynamic capability of the instrument.   However, increasing the bore size results in a flattening of the overall pitch.   Therefore, we had to develop the Nagahara Full Concert System Scale to compensate for an increase in bore size and air column.   In addition, the margin for pitch adjustment (roll in or out) is also decreased by the larger bore size.   The positive trade-off is that this new Nagahara scale has been carefully calibrated and tested to be extremely accurate for less of a need to " adjust by ear" .

Larger  toneholes allows for greater ventilation and facilitates the flute's ability to " speak" .   The actual key cup size is identical to the Nagahara "standard" model.   Key height and overall action have also been kept the same.

Benefits include greater control, a wider range of dynamic capability, increased projection, and an improved sense of balance throughout the instrument both physically and sonically.   The Nagahara Full Concert model flute is truly a milestone in the history of the flute's design, development, and construction.
