FAQ

If you have a particular question that was not answered by the materials in this page or in our website, please contact us with your questions.

Do you have any flutes in stock available for immediate sale?

We always have "demo" instruments available for trial. Occasaionally, "demo" flutes are completely overhauled and made available for sale. To find out what demo instruments are available for trial or sale at the moment, please contact us.

Do you have any headjoints in stock available?

We always offer a wide variety of headjoints in the shop which are available for immediate purchase. If you are interested in purchasing a headjoint, please contact us and we can assist you with further information.

What’s the Nagahara headjoint exchange policy?

We will only exchange headjoints when a complete flute is purchased from us, and only once within the first 6 months of ownership. Single headjoint purchases are non-exchangeable.

Is the Galway locking crown standard with all Nagahara headjoints?

The locking crown is an additional option to the headjoint. You have the choice to upgrade your crown by trading in the standard crown, or purchase the crown separately. For more information, please see Galway Locking Crown page.

Would the locking crown fit in any headjoint or only Nagahara headjoints?

The locking crowns are universal, meaning they fit any headjoint. We offer both the standard size which fits most makers’ headjoints and the metric size for Japanese made flutes.

How long is your waiting list?

Currently we have an approximate waiting time of 13 months for all flute orders.

How can I place an order?

Please see Ordering Information.

Once I place an order, when do I have to pay for it?

We lock the price to the date we receive your order form. A 50% non-refundable down payment is requested once we reach your name in the waiting list to commence construction of your order. The remaining balance would be requested at the time of delivery.

How long will it actually take to make my flute?

It takes 3-4 months to complete the construction of a flute. For all gold flutes, the wait might be a bit longer.

What forms of payment does Nagahara Flutes accept?

We accept major credit cards such as Master Card, Visa, American Express, personal checks, bank checks, money orders and wire transfers (USD only). For our US resident customers only, we do offer a 3% discount if chosen form of payment is any of the above except credit card. Please make all checks and money orders to NNI Inc. / Nagahara flutes as our business is registered under NNI Inc.

Does Nagahara Flutes offer any financing?

We do not offer any financing, but we do have a Student Loan Program.

Do you sell any used Nagahara Flutes?

No, we do not.  You might be able to find one through a dealer in the US, but very rarely are they found. Also, check recent issues of Flute Network and/or The Flute Exchange.  However, very few times throughout the year we place "demo" instruments up for sale. These flutes can be place in hold with a 50% non-refundable down payment and once the replacement demo is finished, we would request the remaining 50% in order to be delivered. We do not release any demo instruments unless there is a replacement finished. No alterations can be made to a demo instrument, and there is no discount offered. All demo instruments are constantly checked and well taken care of during their trial period. We fully service the flute (COA and any other needed repairs) before delivering the instrument once purchased. The best option still is to place an order as you are able to choose the specs on your flute to your comfort.

Do you have any dealers in the US?

No, we do not have dealers in the US. All US customer orders are handled directly through our company.  We do however currently have 10 active international dealers. For more information about our international dealers please visit the Dealers page.

Do you take direct orders from customers outside of the US?

If we have a dealer near you, we would refer you to the dealer. Prices might be a bit different depending on the importation and sales taxes.

Do you ship direct Orders outside of the US?

No, we do not ship any instruments directly to customers outside the US, especially if you have a dealer near you. The only shipping we do abroad is to our international Dealers.

Do you repair instrument of other makes?

No, we only service and repair Nagahara flutes.

Is the “first 3 complementary COAs in the first three years of purchase” promotion granted to every Nagahara owner?

Only US residents who purchased directly from us qualify for this promotion. If the instrument is purchased in the US and taken abroad, the promotion is cancelled. Customers who purchased our instrument through an International Dealer do not qualify for this promotion.  Promotion is non-transferable. Repairs made by an un-authorized international technician will also cancel this promotion.

What’s the Nagahara Flutes shipping policy?

Shipping is usually at the customer’s expense. The only times we grant free shipping is for the first delivery of a new instrument and with the return shipping of the first 3 free COAs. Please notice our change of policy in our return shipping for the first free COAs. We offer free return with UPS 2nd Day Air. Overnight deliveries are at the customer’s expense.
