The idea of a 16k gold alloy came to mind in 1996 initially as an alloy option for Sir James Galway, but instead the 20K gold alloy emerged at that time. None the less, this idea of an alloy that would be easier to work with than the very elegant but challenging 18k and the thought of offering a new sound for flutists to work with was still alive in Kanichi’s mind.
After years contemplating this new gold alloy the 16K gold finally was developed on January 2011.
